Behavioral Intervention Development Core (BID Core)

Working Memory Study

The Neuroscape Center in the Department of Neurology at the University of California is recruiting older adult participants (60-85) for the BIDCore Study. The BIDCore (Behavioral Intervention Development Core) Study is a remote study that examines the impact of digital interventions on cognitive skills like attention and working memory.

Study Overview

The study is hosted on Nexus, our online research training platform, and will take place entirely from your home.

The BIDCore Study uses an adaptive, iPad-based digital intervention to target cognitive skills in an engaging way.

Participation Requirements

The total active time in the study is 26 hours over a period of 9 weeks.

  • Pre-Measures: 2 hours of web or app-based cognitive assessments
  • Intervention:  20 hours of iPad-based digital training, 35-50 minutes of training per day, 3-5 days per week, for 6 weeks
  • Post-Measures: 2 hours of web or app-based cognitive assessments
  • Follow Up (6 Months Later): 2 hours of web or app-based cognitive assessments

Compensation

If you complete all study procedures, you will keep the iPad 10th Generation tablet ($320 value) used for study participation as your own property.

If you do not complete all study tasks, the Neuroscape-provided iPad will be locked and you will receive a shipping label to return it. You will receive the following prorated payment once the device is returned:

  • $0 for baseline outcome assessment and up to five training sessions
  • $50 Amazon electronic gift card for completing six or more training sessions, but no post-training outcome assessment.
